The Christmas Album

 The Christmas Album is Gene O'Neill's

third solo guitar CD. Gene provides all

of the musical backing via multi-track overdub.

All of the tracks are made up of the guitar

playing it's own bass parts while doing the

melody. The overdubs are for extra color.

   lovely brass trio with classical guitar.

 

3. "We Wish You A Merry Christmas"    2:37
   classical guitar, mandolin and bells.

    a lush arrangement with many lovely sounds.

 

5. "Jingle Bells"    3:12
   7 string guitar,keyboards,etc. played as a
  
swing tune. We kept the sleigh bells.

 

6. "Joy To The World"     3:22
   guitar, clarinet, hand bells and harmonica.

 

7. "What Child Is This"   4:23
   a melodic, be-bop jazz version with sax
   and flugle horn throughout.

 

8. "Deck The Halls"     2:54
   guitar, flute and cello

   gentle swing treatment of this much-loved
    Christmas classic.

 

9. "The Little Drummer Boy"     3:23
     This drummer boy has a light latin feel.
     Nice saxophone work adds to the mood.

 

10. "Come All Ye Faithful"    4:07
       classical guitar, a male chorus and
       the flugle horn set a church-like mood.

 

11. "Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem"     2:28
       guitar, african drums, blowpipe and the
       odd brass instrumnet give this "town"
       a new feeling.

 

12. "Silent Night"    3:04
       a 7 string guitar plays a slow, dreamy, 4/4
       rendition of one of the seasons most
       beloved songs.

 

13. "Hark The Herald Angels Sing"     2:34
       Gene O'Neill's concept piece of what
       might happen when a cool jazz trumpeter
       sits in with a Salvation Army Brass band
